It ...The clouds did make it something, Valerianna. It had been very overcast that day, and I was afraid we wouldn't see any of the moon, but luckily it cleared. It was amazing watching the interplay between the moon and the clouds - although, there must have been something starkly magical about seeing just the moon, all alone, centre stage.

"Moonstruck" - I just love that word, Aaron-Paul. It so perfectly captures that state. What I was also amazed by, along with the size and closeness of the moon, was the sheer brightness of it - it actually hurt my eyes a bit to stare directly at it for long - something I've never experienced before.

I love how you described the rising/setting of the egg-yolk moon, Carrie! Here (in southern Germany) we had a more silvery moon.

Oh, Jan! Ignore all of these things we're saying about the moon. We're just making them up. Really. To be honest, when I first heard about the coming moon, I had to make a note to myself about it. That is actually true. It's come to that. But I'm glad that these pictures turned out for you to see!

Hi Donna. Glad that you popped by to see the pictures. The hide and seek was amazing to watch. Moonglow in the wee hours - I like that!

I was happy that these pictures turned out, Debu. I took many more which didn't. I'm no photographer, and tried just about every possible setting on my little digital point-and-shoot camera. (I have an allergy to reading instruction manuals.) There was no setting for close-encounter-with-exceptionally-full-moon, so I had to wing it. Glad you enjoyed them!Lynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01674923395134039554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939857316909930127.post-46546795399254390122011-03-20T21:42:58.822-07:002011-03-20T21:42:58.822-07:00Super moon, super pics! Isn't it enchanting when the moon plays hide and seek in the clouds? I was at work and didn't get to see the moonrise, so I'm happy to catch a glimpse of what I missed. (Though I did have a bit of moonglow peeking in my windows in the wee hours, which is always nice :)Donna~Q~https://www.blogger.com/profile/15516927570570110567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939857316909930127.post-70188988488435780022011-03-20T12:31:37.252-07:002011-03-20T12:31:37.252-07:00Oh, oh, oh, I read that the moon was supposed to b...Oh, oh, oh, I read that the moon was supposed to be extra amazing last night ... but (sigh) I didn't remember to look up. :O(

Glad that you did Lynn ... thanks for posting all these beautious, awesome photos. :O)Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12879541207987895748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939857316909930127.post-66133995827502189182011-03-20T11:14:17.750-07:002011-03-20T11:14:17.750-07:00Wonderful Moon pictures...
